I do not speak any Italian then we strongly suggest you start with a Beginners Course.

I can say and understand a few things in Italian. I can recognise familiar words and very basic phrases whenpeople speak slowly and clearly. I can use simple phrases and sentences to describe food, feeling, things and concerning myself. I can ask and answer simple questions in areas of immediate need or on very familiar topics. I know how to make an adjective and article agree with a feminine plural noun as well as how to conjugate a present tense verbs. In this case, we recommend an Elementary Course.

I can communicate simply and understand in familiar situations but with some difficulty. I can read and understand short simple texts and catch the main point. I can use a series of phrases and sentences to describe in simple terms my family, living conditions, my educational background and to introduce myself but I need much more vocabulary. I studied past tenses but I’m not confident to use them yet. My listening skills are poor and I need a lots more practice. If this description suit you, a Pre-intermediate course is the way to go!

I can understand the main points of clear standard speech on topics pertinent to everyday life (e.g. family, hobbies, work, travel and current events). I can handle very short social exchanges, even though I can’t usually understand enough to keep the conversation going myself. I can express myself using past tense verbs and future tense verb with confidence. So if you already have mastered a basic level of Italian, an Intermediate course will work for you. It offers some good repetition and might just fill in the gaps of basic language you missed elsewhere and make your conversation more smoothly.

I can deal with most situations likely to arise whilst travelling in an area where the language is spoken. I can understand the main point of many radio, TV news, film and current affairs programmes. I can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity in familiar contexts. I can speak and understand reasonably well. I can use present, past and future tenses in a complex sentences. I’m able to add fuller description and add a little more detail in a sentence. In a nutshell: I can communicate without much difficulty but still make quite a lot of mistakes and misunderstand sometimes. If you reflect yourself in this description, an Upper-intermediate course is suitable for you.

I can understand most TV news, film and current affairs programmes. I can express myself fluently and spontaneously without much obvious searching for expressions on a wide range of subjects. I can use language flexibly and effectively for social and professional purposes. I can formulate ideas and opinions easily and I can explain my viewpoint. I speak and understand well but still make mistakes in particular when I try to use subjunctive verbs. Then a Pre-advanced course will fit you perfectly!

I speak and understand Italian completely fluently. I can present clear, detailed descriptions of complex subjects, developing particular points and rounding off with an appropriate conclusion. I can take part effortlessly in any conversation or discussion and have a good familiarity with idiomatic expressions and colloquialisms. I can read with ease virtually all forms of the written language, including abstract, structurally or linguistically complex texts such as manuals, specialised articles and literary works. In order to keep it fresh I need to engage in maintenance activities. Language learning is a lifelong process, start this Advance Course right away!
